Margaret Thatcher, born Roberts October 13, 1925 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, is a British politician who is the 1900s longest serving Prime Minister (1979-1990) in UK , and the only woman to have held the position. A Soviet journalist gave her the nickname "Iron Lady", which later came to be associated with her uncompromising policies and management style. As Prime Minister, she pushed through a conservative policy that has come to be known as Thatcherism.
