Sir Cliff Richard, really Harry Rodger Webb, born 14 October 1940 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, is a British singer. He is one of Britain's most popular singers. During a decade (1958-1969), he had over 40 major hits in the UK. He co-founded the group Shadows in the mid 1950's. Cliff Richard got a record deal with EMI in 1958, but without the Shadows. The same year he received the contract he made a hit with the song Move It.
