Gérard Depardieu is now not only "Monsieur", but also the Russian equivalent "gaspadjin". The actor has received a Russian passport after a brief meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin had previously offered Depardieu Russian citizenship after the French film star, in an open letter, announced that he intends to renounce his French citizenship.
The reason was plans for a French law that would increase taxes dramatically for the richest in France, a group Depardieu belongs to.
