The Bar-Tailed Godwit(Limosa lapponica) is a long migratory bird that nests in the tundra of northern Europe, Asia and western Alaska. The Bar-Tailed Godwit movses in flocks to the coasts of western Europe, Africa, South Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Sometimes birds from Europe and Asia occurs at North America's coasts during winter.

The Bar-Tailed Godwit is one of the bird species that makes the longest nonstop flight, and there are individuals who performes flights on 11 000 kilometers, from Alaska to New Zealand, which can take up to 10 days.

The Bar-Tailed Godwits nest on the tundra in marshes and on heaths.

The Bar-Tailed Godwits feed mostly on insects and crustaceans, but they also eat parts of various aquatic plants.
