Richard Tiffany Gere born August 31, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American actor. Gere broke through as a star in Hollywood in 1982 with his role in the film An Officer and a Gentleman. He's one of Hollywood's most famous actors in films such as American Gigolo, Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts and Sean Connery and Julia Ormond in First Knight, the musical Chicago and dance film Shall We Dance?
