The Great Snipe (Gallinago media) nesting in Eurasian coniferous forest from Norway east to the Yenisei in Russia.The Great Snipe nests in damp bogs, in river valleys and on the bald spots in the pine forests in mountains and in lowlands.
The Great Snipe feeds mainly on earthworms but also on insects.
