The Grey Partridge (Perdix perdix) is a non-migrating bird occurring over most of Europe, except in the northernmost areas, and in western and central Asia. This species has been introduced to North America by hunting interest. The Grey Partridge occurs in plains, but prefer areas with forest hills, thickets and hedges for protection.
The birds are a seed-eating species, but the young in particular take insects as an essential protein supply.
