The Greenshank (Tringa nebularia) is a palearktisk species with a breeding distribution that extends from northern Britain in the west to Kamchatka in the east. It's a long migrant bird and winters in the Mediterranean countries, sub-Saharan Africa, south-western parts of India, Indonesia, Southeast Asia, islands in the South China Sea and Australia.
Greenshanks nest on taiga, especially in remote aged pine woods, preferably near marshes.
Greenshanks eat insects, small fish and crustaceans.
