Pink-footed goose
The Pink-footed Goose (Anser brachyrhynchus) breed in Greenland, Svalbard, mainly in Spitzbergen and Iceland, especially in Hofsjökull-glacial catchment. The Pink-footed Goose is a migratory bird, and joins with other geese species during migration. Their winter range is located in the UK and Ireland, in Belgium and the Netherlands, northern Germany's coastal areas and in Denmark.

In the winter the geese live on the meadows and the floodplaines, but also on pastures. In summer they live in large colonies over 400 meters high altitude barren mountain areas and swamps created by melting glaciers and lakes on Iceland.

In summer the pink-footed goose feeds on the Arctic summer's lush vegetation, especially leaves and buds from smartweed. In winter the pink-footed goose feeds on all existing plants and grasses.
