Willow Tit |
The Willow Tit (Parus montanus or Poecile montana) is widespread and common in temperate and subarctic parts of Europe and northern Asia. It is more specialized in conifers than marsh tit, which explains that it nests much further north. It is generally not migratory.
Previously this species was categorized and synonymous with American Willow Tit (Parus montanus atricapillus) but is now treated as it's own species.
The birds feed on beetles, insects, spiders and seeds, much like other tits.
